Step into Reliability: A Day in This Role
Your shift begins with safety — a quick review of site rules, PPE checks, and a glance at the day’s preventive maintenance (PM) schedule. You’ll move from line to line completing routine PMs on time, documenting everything using good documentation practices (GDP). When production flags an issue, you switch gears: basic troubleshooting, minor mechanical or electrical fixes, and, if needed, prompt escalation to senior mechanics, management, or engineering. Before wrapping up, you tidy work areas, log downtime and repairs to spot recurring issues, and note opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI).
What You’ll Handle
- Work safely and follow all site safety procedures and regulations.
- Follow SOPs and DOPs while performing and documenting PMs and repairs with GDP.
- Complete assigned PMs on or before due dates.
- Respond quickly to equipment repair requests and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Escalate significant equipment problems to senior mechanics, management, and/or engineering.
- Keep production and shop spaces organized and clean after maintenance activities.
- Identify CI opportunities and participate in implementing improvements.
- Log equipment downtime and repairs to help track repeat issues.
- Collaborate with teammates to achieve department and site goals.
- Deliver excellent service to internal customers in production, quality, and engineering.
- Uphold Zoetis standards, guidelines, and values.
What You Bring
- Hands-on background in equipment repair or fabrication.
- Mechanical skills plus minor electrical troubleshooting; comfortable using instruments such as multimeters.
- Familiarity with automated systems (e.g., robotic arms, PLCs).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Clear written and verbal communication and solid interpersonal skills.
- Curiosity and drive to learn new equipment, repair methods, software, systems, and procedures.
Bonus Skills
- Basic understanding of CMMS tools.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics.
- Experience in an FDA-regulated environment.
- Introductory SolidWorks knowledge.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- 1–3 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- PPE such as protective eyewear, protective-toe footwear, and respirators may be required per area safety procedures.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled shift, including overtime, are essential.
