Title: Equipment Reliability Engineer
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Onsite at Hemlock, MI
Work Schedule: M - F 8am - 5pm (Occasional overtime may be required for critical equipment issues or project implementation.)

This position requires U.S. Citizens only to meet the DOD/ITAR requirements.

Summary:
  • The position focuses on troubleshooting equipment issues, improving reliability and performance, supporting preventive maintenance strategies, and leading or assisting with equipment upgrades, modifications, and ramp-related projects.
  • The role also serves as a key technical resource, working closely with operations, maintenance, vendors, and project teams to improve equipment uptime and ensure safe, high-quality execution.
Primary Purpose:
  • Support manufacturing production equipment by providing mechanical engineering expertise focused on equipment troubleshooting, reliability, uptime improvement, maintenance support, and mechanical process improvements in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and support root cause investigation and corrective actions
  • Drive equipment reliability, performance, and maintainability improvements
  • Lead or support equipment modifications, upgrades, and replacement projects
  • Serve as a technical resource for assigned equipment systems
  • Partner with maintenance and operations to improve coordination, issue resolution, and equipment uptime
  • Support execution of preventive and predictive maintenance activities/strategies
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders during startup and ongoing equipment support
  • Ensure work is completed in alignment with safety, quality, and operational requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Open to other engineering disciplines with relevant manufacturing experience
  • Master's Degree acceptable if accompanied by strong hands-on experience
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience
Preferred
  • Manufacturing backgrounds such as automotive, industrial manufacturing, or similar sectors
  • Candidates familiar with manufacturing automation environments
  • Mechanical Engineers with hands-on equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Individuals with exposure to controls/automation systems and the ability to communicate effectively with controls engineers (PLC programming not required)
  • Any manufacturing background is acceptable; solar industry experience is not required
