As the Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's equipment and vehicle assets to ensure optimal performance in the field. You will collaborate with leadership and the financial team to manage equipment procurement, maintenance, and budgeting effectively. Your role involves proactively monitoring maintenance activities to minimize downtime, negotiating with suppliers to ensure quality service at reasonable prices, and continuously evaluating equipment needs to support project commitments. Additionally, you will work closely with leadership to evaluate purchase versus rental decisions, forecast equipment costs and repairs, and oversee the team of mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Oversight:
- Manage the company's equipment and vehicle assets, ensuring they are properly maintained and utilized to support project requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections to assess equipment condition and identify maintenance needs.
- Procurement and Maintenance:
- Collaborate with leadership and the financial team to procure equipment and vehicles that meet project specifications and budgetary constraints.
- Proactively monitor maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Supplier Management:
- Work with suppliers to negotiate contracts and agreements for equipment maintenance and repair services, ensuring quality service at reasonable prices.
- Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement or changes as needed.
- Equipment Needs Assessment:
- Continuously assess equipment needs based on project requirements, technological advancements, and industry trends.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements to enhance productivity and efficiency in the field.
- Purchase vs. Rental Evaluation:
- Collaborate with leadership to evaluate purchase versus rental decisions for equipment, considering factors such as project duration, utilization rates, and financial implications.

- Forecasting and Budgeting:

- Mechanics Supervision:

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Proven experience in equipment management or related roles, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of equipment procurement, maintenance practices, and supplier management.
