Job Description

Responsible for leading the Equipment Engineering function to design, develop, and support automated equipment and machinery for multiple industrial markets. This role requires a strong engineering leader who can build and manage a cohesive multidisciplinary team, establish clear priorities and accountability, allocate resources effectively, and ensure reliable execution across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines. This is primarily a department leadership and engineering execution role, not a expert design engineer or technical lead position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Equipment Engineering team across the complete equipment lifecycle, including concept development, detailed engineering, design release, build support, system integration, debug, validation, FAT, installation/commissioning, field support, and ongoing product improvement.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight across mechanical, electrical, controls, and integrated automation systems.
• Review and challenge technical approaches, identify design and integration risks, guide engineering tradeoff decisions, and ensure effective coordination between disciplines without becoming the primary designer or technical specialist for every project.
• Ensure engineering designs meet customer specifications, applicable codes and standards, safety requirements, and internal quality standards.
• Plan and allocate engineering resources to support active projects, development initiatives, and customer commitments.

Essential Skills

• 15+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Expertise in industrial automation and custom machine design.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, controls, and systems integration knowledge.
• Proven success managing scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Experience with CAD/PLM systems, design controls, and machine safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Strong management skills.
• Experience in robotics and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of machine safety and adhesive processes.

Work Environment

The position requires on-site presence. The role involves working closely with various engineering disciplines to ensure project success and continuous improvement across the organization.

This is a Permanent position based out of Sanford, FL.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
