We are seeking a skilled Equipment Engineer II to support our manufacturing operations through expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production equipment. This role is integral to ensuring equipment reliability, supporting process optimization, and leading equipment-related validation activities to maintain efficient and compliant manufacturing operations.

Role Overview:
The Equipment Engineer II supports manufacturing operations through the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production equipment. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports process optimization, and leads equipment-related validation activities to maintain efficient and compliant manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable operation and minimal downtime.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment, including IQ/OQ/PQ execution.
  • Apply calibration and metrology principles to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics (OEE, downtime trends) to identify improvements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize performance and yield.
  • Provide technical support for production and automation systems.
  • Develop and execute validation protocols and documentation.
  • Evaluate, select, and order equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products.
  • Oversee the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain current records on equipment manufacturers'technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.
  • Study equipment performance and reliability.
  • Establish programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations.
  • Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering;Master’s preferred. 3–5 years of experience required (open to less experience with strong internships/co-ops).
Work Schedule and Location:
40 hours/week, 100% onsite in Billerica, MA.
