Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics and repairs on semi-trucks, trailers, and heavy construction/off-road equipment

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, and hydraulics

Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime

Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues

Repair and maintain components such as pumps, cylinders, valves, and other hydraulic systems

Test equipment and vehicles to verify performance and safety after repairs

Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs

Follow established inspection procedures and safety protocols

Manage parts inventory and ensure proper organization and cleanliness of the shop

Perform field service repairs as needed in varying outdoor conditions

Qualifications

Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment, or Automotive Repair

Experience working on semi-trucks, heavy equipment, and/or construction/off-road machinery

CDL preferred or willingness to obtain

ASE Diesel Certification or equivalent experience is a plus

Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

Proficiency with diagnostic tools, software, and repair equipment

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Good communication and organizational skills

Working conditions

Able to work outdoors in all seasons and work at heights.

Physical Requirements

Able climb ladders and stairs and lift up to 100lbs

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or

feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and depth perception.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting wage for this position is $30-40/hour, with potential adjustments based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
