Equestrian Program & Barn DirectorSchedule: Part-Time (Flexible / Seasonal shift adjustments)Position OverviewWe are seeking an operational leader to oversee our 10-horse herd, direct our riding lesson operations, manage trainer logistics, and lead our seasonal winter boarding transition. This role combines hands-on herd oversight with high-level administrative management-offering a streamlined structure for an experienced equestrian professional seeking a dedicated, impactful part-time role.Core Responsibilities1. Herd & Facility Management (Annual)Care & Health: Oversee daily care routines, feeding protocols, turnout schedules, and preventative health plans for a private 10-horse herd.Veterinary & Farrier Coordination: Serve as primary point of contact for vet visits, farrier rotations, bodywork, and emergency care protocols.Facility Oversight: Maintain safety standards across stalls, paddocks, tack rooms, and arenas; coordinate routine equipment and barn maintenance.2. Lesson Program & Staff LeadershipLesson Program Administration: Direct student intake, skill assessments, rider placement, and overall curriculum progression.Trainer Recruitment & Oversight: Source, interview, hire, and manage freelance/contract riding instructors.Scheduling: Coordinate arena usage, lesson times, and trainer shifts to optimize facility efficiency and rider experience.3. Seasonal Boarding Management (November – March)Transition Logistics: Coordinate the relocation and intake of the herd to a partner boarding facility for the winter season.Site Visits & Monitoring: Perform regular, scheduled check-ins at the boarding facility to audit care quality, herd condition, and facility compliance.Boarder & Facility Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between horse owners, facility staff, and boarders to maintain open communication, resolve inquiries, and issue monthly updates.Key QualificationsExperience: 3+ years in barn management, equine care, or equestrian program direction.Leadership: Proven ability to recruit, schedule, and manage equine trainers or instructional staff.Communication: Exceptional client-facing skills for managing student families and facility contacts.Logistics: Highly organized with experience managing seasonal horse transport and off-site boarding logistics.
