We are seeking an Epidemiologist 1 to support a public health care coordination and data collection program in Nashville, TN. This role will focus on epidemiological analysis, data management, reporting, and development of electronic data collection systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with REDCap, SAS, public health data, statistical programming, and database management, along with the ability to translate program requirements into effective data solutions.
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST, 37.5 hours/week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid; candidates must be current Tennessee residents and able to travel to the Nashville office as needed.
Develop, maintain, and enhance electronic data collection systems using REDCap.
Translate program requirements into appropriate data collection processes, modules, and system enhancements.
Implement and maintain SAS code and REDCap project changes as program requirements and monitoring processes evolve.
Prepare and deliver recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on program participation, outcomes, and performance.
Independently write, execute, and test statistical code to ensure accuracy and data quality.
Extract, clean, validate, analyze, and submit recurring program data reports in a timely manner.
Support public health surveillance projects through data analysis, outputs, visualizations, and reporting.
Respond to data inquiries from program teams, leadership, regional staff, stakeholders, and public health partners.
Fulfill ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to non-technical staff on REDCap, data systems, SOPs, and related processes.
Support the integration and implementation of new data systems and related applications.
Maintain accurate electronic data and navigate complex databases while ensuring data integrity and attention to detail.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support program evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology, Public Health Biostatistics, Statistics, Health Information, or a related field.
Alternatively, a master’s degree in Health Science, Biomedical Science, Environmental Science, or a related field with equivalent professional experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, health informatics, health sciences, biomedical sciences, or environmental sciences.
Strong hands-on experience with REDCap and electronic data collection systems.
Proficiency in SAS or comparable statistical programming software.
Experience managing, analyzing, cleaning, and reporting complex datasets.
Ability to independently develop code and validate outputs for accuracy.
Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data management, system design, analysis, and evaluation.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple data-related activities within established deadlines.
Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, and technical assistance skills.
Ability to work effectively in a remote/hybrid environment.
Must be a current Tennessee resident and able to travel to Nashville as required.
