Epicor Kinetic Technical / Functional Analyst

This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a well-rounded Epicor professional who understands both the technical and functional sides of Epicor Kinetic and can help the organization make sound business and system decisions throughout the remainder of the implementation. The right person will be able to sit with Finance in the morning, work through an operational or manufacturing issue in the afternoon, review data-conversion results, and then have a technical conversation with the implementation partner regarding an integration or customization.

Our client is seeking an experienced Epicor Kinetic Technical / Functional Analyst to join an ERP implementation that is already underway, with a targeted go-live of May 2027.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a well-rounded Epicor professional who understands both the technical and functional sides of Epicor Kinetic and can help the organization make sound business and system decisions throughout the remainder of the implementation.

The ideal candidate will have experience across both financial and operational/manufacturing functions, along with strong knowledge of data migration, integrations, customizations, system configuration, testing, and implementation best practices.

This individual will serve as an important bridge between internal business users, leadership, the implementation partner, and outside Epicor consultants. The role requires someone who can understand business requirements, challenge or validate recommendations, and explain how decisions made during implementation will impact the organization after go-live.
Key Responsibilities

• Join an Epicor Kinetic implementation already in progress and help drive the project through configuration, testing, data conversion, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Serve as an internal Epicor subject matter expert, providing both technical and functional guidance.
• Work directly with business users, department leaders, implementation partners, consultants, and third-party vendors.
• Help leadership make informed business decisions based on a strong understanding of how Epicor Kinetic works and how configuration decisions affect downstream processes.
• Evaluate current implementation decisions and identify potential gaps, risks, or opportunities for improvement before go-live.
• Support Epicor functionality across both financial and operational areas, including processes involving:
  • General Ledger, AP, AR, and financial reporting
  • Order Management
  • Purchasing and Procurement
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management
  • Production and Manufacturing
  • Planning/MRP
  • Costing
  • Shipping and fulfillment
• Take an active role in data conversion and migration, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, loading, reconciliation, and testing.
• Help ensure the Epicor environments are configured and structured properly for implementation, testing, training, and production.
• Support the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of system integrations, including integrations with Shopify and QVC-related systems.
• Evaluate and support Epicor customizations while balancing business requirements with the benefits of maintaining a supportable Kinetic environment.
• Participate in system testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover planning, and go-live preparation.
• Work with consultants and implementation partners to ensure deliverables meet internal business requirements rather than relying solely on outside recommendations.
• Assist with documentation, business process development, user training, and knowledge transfer.
• Provide ongoing Epicor support and continuous improvement following the May 2027 go-live.

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Epicor Kinetic and/or recent versions of Epicor ERP.
• Experience participating in at least one Epicor implementation, major upgrade, or enterprise-wide ERP transformation.
• Strong combination of technical and functional Epicor knowledge.
• Working knowledge of both Epicor Financials and Operations/Manufacturing.
• Strong experience with ERP data migration, conversion, validation, and reconciliation.
• Ability to understand how Epicor configuration choices impact business processes across multiple departments.
• Experience working directly with ERP implementation partners and outside consultants.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical Epicor solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Comfortable communicating with everyone from end users and technical resources to department leadership and executives.

• Data conversion and migration

• Customizations
• Epicor security and environment configuration
• Testing and deployment processes

Integration Experience
Candidates should have experience supporting ERP integrations with external applications and third-party platforms. Specific experience with eCommerce, order management, fulfillment, EDI, retail, or marketplace integrations is particularly valuable.

The current environment includes integrations involving:

Shopify –eCommerce/order-related integration

QVC-related systems –order, fulfillment, data, and/or business-system integration

Direct Shopify or QVC experience is helpful but not required if the candidate has strong experience designing, supporting, and troubleshooting similar Epicor integrations.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
This position is not intended for someone who only knows one narrow area of Epicor. The client needs a well-rounded Epicor professional who can see the entire ERP picture.

The right person will be able to sit with Finance in the morning, work through an operational or manufacturing issue in the afternoon, review data-conversion results, and then have a technical conversation with the implementation partner regarding an integration or customization.

Most importantly, this person should be comfortable saying, “Here is how Kinetic handles this, here are our options, and here is what each decision will mean for the business.”
Employment Structure
The client's preference is to hire this individual as a direct-hire employee who can become a long-term Epicor resource for the organization following implementation.

For the right candidate, the client may also consider a contract-to-hire arrangement, particularly if it allows an experienced Epicor professional to join the implementation quickly.
