About the Role
The Epic Willow Ambulatory Certified Specialist will support, build, configure, maintain, and optimize Epic Willow Ambulatory applications supporting ambulatory pharmacy services.
This position is ideal for an experienced healthcare IT professional with Epic Willow Ambulatory expertise, particularly candidates with either a clinical background supported by a BSN or a technical background supported by a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
You will serve as a subject matter expert connecting clinical, pharmacy, operational, and technical workflows with Epic technology. You will work closely with nursing, pharmacy, clinical, operational, and IT teams to translate workflow requirements into effective Epic solutions.
This is a clinical IT role—not a bedside nursing position. Candidates may bring either a clinical foundation through a BSN or a technical foundation through Computer Science/IT education, but all candidates must have the required Epic Willow Ambulatory expertise.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Build, configure, maintain, and optimize Epic Willow Ambulatory
Provide production support for Epic Willow Ambulatory applications
Troubleshoot complex application and workflow issues
Configure and test application enhancements
Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
Translate pharmacy and clinical workflow requirements into Epic solutions
Collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders
Identify opportunities to improve ambulatory pharmacy workflows
Develop application documentation and support standards
Participate in application prioritization and enhancement planning
Mentor team members and share Epic Willow Ambulatory expertise
Support reliable, efficient, and compliant use of Epic applications

Required Qualifications
Education
ONE OF THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program, OR
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, OR
Bachelor’s degree in a closely related Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or technical field
Additional education or certifications in healthcare IT, clinical informatics, pharmacy informatics, or related areas are a plus.
An active RN license is not required.
Epic Willow Ambulatory
EPIC WILLOW AMBULATORY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Epic Willow Ambulatory certification required
Active Epic Willow Ambulatory certification or applicable certification requirements for the position
Hands-on Epic Willow Ambulatory build experience required
Experience configuring and supporting Epic Willow Ambulatory in a production healthcare environment
Experience with testing, implementation, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization
Professional Experience
5+ years of healthcare application support experience
Experience working with Epic applications in a healthcare environment
Experience supporting clinical, pharmacy, or ambulatory workflows
Demonstrated ability to translate clinical and/or operational requirements into Epic solutions
Strong understanding of application configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and system optimization
