    ePACS SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR 

    UT Government is looking to add an ePACS System Administrator to their team supporting a federal facility in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, five (5) day per week onsite position requiring an active or eligible government clearance. 

    POSITION SUMMARY 

    The ePACS (Electronic Physical Access Control System) System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of the integrated security infrastructure at a federal facility, including Active Directory, network infrastructure (HP switches), the Gallagher Access Control System (ACS), and the Avigilon Unity Video Management System (VMS). This role requires a strong, hands-on IT foundation in enterprise systems and network administration. Prior experience with ACS/VMS platforms is a plus but not required — UT will provide platform-specific training to the right candidate. This position may also be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and mentorship of a local technician. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

    IT & Systems Administration 

    • Administer and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and AD Certificate Authority (AD CA) services in support of PIV credentialing and the physical security environment. 
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policy objects in accordance with federal security requirements and organizational baselines. 
    • Apply system and security patches, monitor server health, and ensure planned maintenance is scheduled to avoid disruption to government operations. 
    • Maintain accurate system documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures. 

    Network Infrastructure 

    • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot HP (and Cisco) network switches supporting the security infrastructure, including CLI-based configuration. 
    • Design, implement, and troubleshoot VLANs, static and dynamic routing, and network segmentation in support of secure system operations. 
    • Monitor network performance and proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve connectivity and infrastructure issues. 

    ACS / VMS System Administration 

    • Administer and support the Gallagher Access Control System, including credential management, door/panel/reader configuration, and system integrations (training provided). 
    • Administer and support the Avigilon Unity Video Management System, including camera and recording configuration, health monitoring, and troubleshooting (training provided). 
    • Program system events, notifications, and alerts, including door access denials, forced-door alerts, and related security notifications. 
    • Support integration of the ACS/VMS environment with related systems such as PIV/USAccess, intrusion detection, and notification/SMTP services. 

    Team Leadership & Support 

    • May provide day-to-day direction, task assignment, and mentorship to an onsite local technician. 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for ePACS-related issues, coordinating with government personnel, contractors, and outside agencies as needed. 
    • Provide basic end-user training on day-to-day system operations as needed. 
    • Collaborate with UT technical teams and government stakeholders to resolve complex issues and support broader physical security goals. 

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 

    • 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and AD Certificate Authority / PIV-related services. 
    • Solid working knowledge of network configuration and troubleshooting, including HP and/or Cisco switches, CLI familiarity, VLANs, and routing fundamentals. 
    • Strong general troubleshooting skills across servers, workstations, and network infrastructure. 
    • Experience with, or strong aptitude to quickly learn, physical security platforms such as Gallagher ACS and Avigilon Unity VMS (training provided). 
    • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
    • Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior technicians is a plus. 
    • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government clearance/suitability determination as required for the position. 
    • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA) are a plus. 
    • A bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (5+ years) with a technical IT focus. 

    WORK LOCATION 

    • Washington, DC — onsite, five (5) days per week. This position does not offer remote or hybrid work.
