Environmental & Water Regulatory Attorney (Associate to Of Counsel) - Austin, TX

A long-established Texas-based law firm is hiring an environmental attorney to join its Environmental and Water practice in its Austin, TX office and help build on the practice's growth. You'll handle a broad range of environmental permitting, compliance and enforcement matters before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and other agencies, with substantive, hands-on experience, direct client contact and in-person mentorship. The firm works to maintain a balanced culture, believing that outside interests and strong community bonds make better lawyers, and keeps reasonable expectations on billable hours.

Responsibilities

• TCEQ air, water and waste permitting and contested case hearings
• Regulatory compliance counseling and enforcement matters
• Water rights and water utility matters
• Environmental due diligence and remediation for developer and industrial clients

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• Environmental or administrative regulatory experience required
• Experienced associate through mid-level or of counsel considered; portable business preferred but not required
• Outstanding academic record, excellent analytical and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills
