Environmental Sustainability Manager - Newington, CT

Environmental Management System Manager – Newington, CT. NextStep Recruiting is helping a large, international food manufacturing client of ours find an experienced Environment Sustainability Manager. This role will manage two food manufacturing plants efforts to reach their sustainability goals ins the areas of energy, water, and waste.

Candidates should have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Environment Science, Engineering or a related field
• 3 plus years of environment sustainability experience in manufacturing is a must, CPG industry or food manufacturing or fluids a plus
• Hands-on with an enthusiasm for walking the manufacturing sites and really learning the business
• Experience executing a resource conservation program around energy (utility systems, refrigeration, heat, cleaning systems, etc.), water, and waste. Experience establishing KPI's and maintaining ISO Standards (14000 & 50000 Standards)
• Knowledge of EPA Better Plants Program a plus
• Any certifications such as the Association of Energy Engineers (AEEs), Certified Energy Manager or American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air- Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAEs) and Building Energy Assessment Professional a plus.

This role will be based out of their Newington, CT plant and will require travel to another plant 3.5 hours away about once per month. Expenses covered.
