  Role Environmental Specialist LocationCalera AL 35040Pay Range $32/HR ON w2 Duration 12 Months



•Science (chemistry, biology, environmental science) or engineering degree with a minimum of 15 semester hours of chemistry. •Work safely, identify and implement corrective actions for unsafe working conditions. •Experience utilizing analytical reference methods and instrumentation to perform analyses is preferred. •Experience with quality control requirements for analytical methods. •Knowledge in EPA, ASTM, Standard Methods and other reference standards and their application is required. •Ability to use technical standard operating procedures to perform analyses. •Ability to write technical standard operating procedures for laboratory analyses to reflect requirements of reference standards and methodologies. •Ability to interface with a variety of internal/external work groups and customers. •Demonstrated attention to detail is required. •Ability to understand technical procedures to evaluate sample data. •Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation issues. •Commitment to Our Values (Safety First, Unquestionable Trust, Superior Performance, Total Commitment). •Ability to produce high quality work in an efficient manner. •Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. •Customer focus with an enthusiastic, positive attitude. •Initiative and flexibility as well as personal responsibility. •Build positive relationships as a team player. •Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn. •Preferred analytical experience working with gas chromatography (GC) instrumentation.
