Job Description

Parks, Recreation and Tourism is seeking detail-oriented, service-driven individuals to join our team as a Seasonal Substitute Environmental Services Technician. In this role, you'll help create safe, clean, and inviting environments that enhance every visitor's experience.

You will have the opportunity to showcase your custodial skills by servicing a variety of City buildings, facilities, common areas, and recreational spaces. Your work plays an important role in maintaining spaces that residents and visitors rely on every day.

The primary tasks of an Environmental Services Technician include:

  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service by responding to service requests and inquiries, supporting the City's Customer Service Initiative.
  • Clean and maintain offices, restrooms, kitchens, cabins, outdoor facilities, and other assigned areas.
  • Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, and floor care (including stripping and waxing), as well as dusting, glass cleaning, and polishing furniture and woodwork.
  • Monitor and maintain cleaning and paper product supplies; order, pick up, deliver, and restock as needed.
  • Mix and use cleaning chemicals safely according to product specifications.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables; maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas and parking lots, including debris removal.
  • Lift and transport filled trash bags and other materials for disposal.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Requires instruction that is sufficient for satisfactory job performance.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in housekeeping and/or custodial services.

Knowledge of APPA, custodial standard of operations and principle guidelines.

Quality customer service and communication skills.
