This includes daily cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, restrooms, offices, and public areas. You'll use approved cleaning products and procedures to help create a sanitary and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and public areasDispose of trash and hazardous waste following proper proceduresFollow safety guidelines and infection control protocolsUse cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectivelyComplete daily tasks on schedule with minimal supervisionAttend ongoing training and in-service educationMaintain confidentiality regarding patients and hospital operationsPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental ServicesRequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED (Preferred)At least 1 year of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or custodial work (Preferred)Strong attention to detail and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift 25–50 lbs, bend, stand, and walk for extended periodsReliable transportation and flexibility with scheduleBasic computer skills and a professional, respectful demeanorPhysical Demands This position requires physical stamina and the ability to move freely throughout the facility. Duties include standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and operating cleaning equipment. Visual and auditory acuity is needed to identify safety risks and respond appropriately.Why SGH?
