Environmental Services Aide

Job Description:

Maquoketa Care Center is looking for a Part Time or PRN Environmental Services Aide to add to our team. This position would handle both laundry and housekeeping duties, focused on maintaining clean, safe, and sustainable environments.

Responsibilities:

• Operate laundry equipment and machinery such as commercial washers, dryers, and ironing or pressing machines
• Sort, wash, dry, and fold laundry items including linens, towels, clothing, and other textiles, ensuring proper handling of delicate fabrics and stain treatment
• Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including but not limited to bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Dust, vacuum, and mop floors; wash windows and walls as needed.
• Change bed linens, towels, and other linens; ensure laundry is properly cleaned and put away.
• Organize and declutter spaces to maintain a neat and orderly environment.
• Restock supplies such as toiletries, cleaning products, and paper goods.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including laundry rooms, storage areas, and equipment, and ensure supplies are adequately stocked
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and adherence to facility policies
• Support team members and perform additional duties as assigned to meet the facility’s laundry and housekeeping demands

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not always required
• Experience: Prior experience in laundry, cleaning, or dry cleaning is advantageous but not essential
• Skills: Attention to detail, organizational skills, teamwork, and basic knowledge of laundry care and equipment operation

• High School Diploma/GED

Experience:

• Entry Level (0-2 years)
