Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Environmental Manager for a 6-month contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position will oversee the site's environmental program, manage environmental engineers, coordinate with governing agencies, and support environmental compliance activities. The role reports directly to the Safety, Health, & Environmental Director and has the potential to extend up to 18 months based on budget and performance.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience managing people and projects
  • Ability to manage environmental compliance programs
  • Knowledge of air, solid waste, and water compliance
  • Ability to coordinate with governing agencies and internal teams
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure compliance reports are prepared and approved ahead of schedule

Preferred Skills

  • Wastewater experience
  • Previous experience working with the government as a client
  • Permit writing experience
  • Government compliance experience
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science with 8 years of applicable experience

What You’ll Do

  • Manage 5 Environmental Engineers involved in air, solid waste, and water compliance
  • Own and oversee the site's environmental program
  • Direct integration between the site and governing agencies
  • Serve as a liaison between the site and community regarding environmental compliance
  • Monitor regulatory requirements to help avoid compliance issues
  • Ensure compliance reports are prepared and approved ahead of schedule
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve compliance issues
  • Serve as the environmental expert during MOD projects
  • Prepare the environmental budget
