This EH&S Manager will lead Safety, Environmental Compliance, and Emergency Management. Safety comes first so every role here is expected to work safely, follow established procedures, and support a proactive, zero-incident culture, and this role leads that effort site-wide.

Develop, maintain, and drill the site Emergency Action Plan (fire, chemical release, severe weather, medical), including evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures

Build and lead an in-house emergency response team with HAZWOPER-level training
Own the site's spill prevention and control plan and participate hands-on in spill response alongside production staff
Manage fire protection (extinguishers, alarms, hot work permits, fire watch) and coordinate with the local fire department and county emergency planning committee
Own physical site security: access control, key / badge management, and visitor procedures
Maintain SDS, PPE programs, and hazardous waste storage/disposal compliance
Manage air permitting, stormwater, and hazardous waste compliance in partnership with our third-party environmental consulting firm, who prepares annual filings (Tier II, MAERS, Title V Certification)
Lead monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings; assign corrective actions and track them to closure
Chair root-cause investigations for incidents and near-misses; own a leading-indicator program (near-miss reporting, hazard hunts)
Own the annual review cycle for all safety, emergency response, and security SOPs
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of hands-on EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Working knowledge of OSHA / MIOSHA standards; PSM experience a plus
Familiarity with Title V air permits and hazardous waste regulations
Experience supporting workers' compensation investigations
A proactive, floor-first leadership style, you're comfortable grabbing a mop or leading a spill cleanup alongside your team, not just documenting it
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to hold peer managers accountable on safety
Emergency management experience preferred
This role has functional authority over safety and emergency policy but no line authority over production staff, assignments and staffing stay with Operations.
