Reporting directly to the EHS Regional Manager, the EHS Site Leader role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of their assigned site and will work to create and enforce a culture of safety within our organization. Partnering with the local leadership teams in implementing EHS procedures, policies, as well as conducting site assessments, the position will develop and implement action plans that drive closure of open issues and improvements resulting in improved safety performance and environmental controls.
The role will develop, implement, and evaluate EHS policies and procedures. They will provide authority and leadership with respect to the running of the site EHS programs including the development of strategies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company standards to improve safety and reduce/eliminate EHS related business risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strong visible and active daily presence in the functional work areas to observe operations and to work with employees to achieve safe behaviors and operations.
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor and management level to ensure a common and effective approach.
- Evaluate the facility EHS related conditions and identify risks and develop appropriate action plans.
- Perform incident investigations and assist in corrective actions.
- Conduct job hazard analysis and recommend preventative/corrective action where hazards exist.
- Develop and deliver training to employees on EHS programs, including new employee orientation.
- Analyze and maintain EHS records, metrics and systems and reporting performance using Gensuite software management program.
- Lead worker injury management response as part of the workers compensation program.
- Manage hazardous waste (waste profiles, and coordinate disposal)
- Serve as chair on safety committees/councils
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
