    As the Environmental Health and Safety Manager (Data Centers), you will serve as the onsite EHS leader responsible for implementing and administering safety programs, training, compliance initiatives, and risk mitigation activities within a data center environment. This role ensures adherence to corporate, customer, contractual, regulatory, and environmental requirements while promoting a strong safety culture and reducing operational risk. Acting as the primary safety point of contact between Wesco, customer stakeholders, and onsite operations teams, you will lead safety planning, audits, incident response, training, and continuous improvement efforts to support safe and compliant operations across the site.


    Responsibilities:


    + Develop and maintain task hazard analyses (THAs), job safety analyses (JSAs), and related risk assessment tools to support safe field operations.

    + Support customer safety objectives and compliance expectations, lead site-level safety program execution, and establish safety communication and governance practices for onsite employees.

    + Coordinate safety activities across multiple shifts and lead significant incident response and escalation activities.

    + Drive safety improvement initiatives, while providing guidance and leadership to site safety resources.

    + Create and deliver daily and weekly Tailgate Talks and develop specialized internal safety training as needed, including training related to spotter practices, battery storage, and other operational safety topics.

    + Establish and maintain safety protocols for the field service location, including site-specific health and safety plans, emergency action plans with required contacts and maps, and appropriate THAs and JSAs.

    + Incorporate applicable customer, regulatory, and environmental requirements into safety planning and execution when work is performed on customer property or under contract-specific obligations.

    + Identify additional safety training needs for team members and coordinate required training to support compliance and safe job performance in conjunction with the corporate safety team.

    + Assist site management and customer with maintaining digital training records, compliance documentation, and related data within eCompliance or other designated safety management systems.

    + Conduct site safety audits and perform both in-person and online safety reviews to evaluate compliance and support corrective action planning.

    + Assist the onsite team with review and negotiation of bid-level safety terms and conditions and support site management with compliance to contract-level safety requirements.

    + Interpret, implement, and reinforce corporate safety requirements, policies, and standards for local teams.

    + Participate in operations team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support safety priorities and continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Serve as the primary onsite EHS point of contact for customer stakeholders, participating in safety reviews, compliance meetings, incident escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Support and provide direction to onsite safety coordinators and other designated safety resources to ensure consistent safety coverage and compliance across operational shifts.

    + Lead safety inspections, audits, workplace assessments, and hazard evaluations, ensuring corrective actions are documented, communicated, and driven to closure.

    + Provide safety onboarding, orientation, and recurring compliance training for employees, contractors, and visitors in support of customer and corporate safety requirements.

    + Develop and maintain programs addressing material handling activities, lockout/tagout (LOTO), powered equipment hazards, battery storage systems, PPE compliance, and other site-specific operational safety risks.

    + Support workforce planning and onboarding activities related to site safety coverage and the continued growth of onsite safety resources as operational requirements evolve.

    + Provide on-call support for safety incidents, emergency response activities, and customer escalations as required.


    Qualifications:


    + High School Degree or Equivalent required, Bachelors Degree preferred

    + Occupational Health and Safety (i.e., CSP, CIH, PE, etc.) or related field required

    + 7 years of progressive safety experience supporting data centers or in field service, construction, industrial, logistics, warehousing, or similar operational environments, including experience leading safety initiatives and coordinating safety resources within complex operations.

    + Working knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard assessment practices, incident prevention methods, emergency action planning, safety audits, regulatory compliance requirements, lockout/tagout (LOTO), material handling activities, powered equipment hazards, and PPE management. Knowledge of data center safety best practices preferred.

    + Experience developing THAs, JSAs, site-specific safety plans, and safety training programs.

    + Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to interpret customer, contractual, regulatory, and corporate safety requirements and apply them in operational settings.

    + Experience maintaining compliance documentation and training records in electronic safety management systems such as eCompliance.

    + Experience supporting multi-site data center safety, field service, warehousing, logistics, or industrial safety operations preferred.

    + Experience supporting 24/7 operational environments and coordinating safety compliance activities across multiple shifts preferred.

    + Relevant safety certification such as OSHA 30, CHST, ASP, CSP, CIH, or similar credentials preferred.

    + Ability to travel to support safety compliance and training across multiple data center locations if needed.


    Working Environment: Data Center – The data center work environment is a highly secure, physically demanding, and structured operation, characterized by its loud, controlled temperature conditions and 24/7/365 uptime. The environment demands high attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to manage and troubleshoot critical equipment during regular operation and in emergency situations. Lifting up to 50 lbs, regular bending, stooping, climbing and long periods of walking / standing will be required.


    Position may require availability outside standard business hours to support incident response, customer escalations, emergency situations, and safety coverage needs within a 24/7 operational environment.


    Physical Expectations:


    + Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.

    + Employee required to walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.

    + Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform their job
