Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) & Compliance ManagerDepartment: OperationsReports To: Operations DirectorPosition Type: Full-Time SalariedPosition SummaryThe EHS & Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the park's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), regulatory compliance, loss prevention, and operational risk management programs through the administration of safety initiatives, compliance activities, audits, inspections, investigations, training programs, and risk-control processes.This position serves as a technical resource to operational leadership by identifying hazards, evaluating risks, monitoring compliance obligations, conducting investigations, and supporting continuous improvement efforts designed to protect guests, associates, contractors, assets, and the organization's reputation.The EHS & Compliance Manager works collaboratively with all departments to promote a proactive safety culture while ensuring adherence to company standards and applicable regulatory requirements. more Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEHS Program AdministrationAdminister and support park-wide Environmental, Health & Safety programs, policies, standards, and procedures.Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems.Conduct routine inspections of rides, attractions, facilities, warehouses, maintenance areas, food and beverage locations, and operational workspaces.Monitor compliance with company safety policies and established operating procedures.Maintain safety documentation, records, reports, and compliance files.Support departmental leaders in implementing safety initiatives and corrective actions.Regulatory ComplianceMonitor compliance with federal, state, and local safety, environmental, occupational health, and fire prevention regulations.Coordinate regulatory inspections, audits, assessments, and compliance reviews.Maintain required permits, licenses, certifications, inspection records, and regulatory reports.Research regulatory changes and communicate impacts to operational departments.Assist in the implementation of corrective actions resulting from regulatory or internal audits.Risk Assessment and Hazard ManagementConduct operational risk assessments and job hazard analyses.Evaluate operational changes, projects, special events, equipment installations, and process modifications for potential risk exposures.Identify hazards and recommend corrective measures to reduce risk.Maintain records of risk assessments and mitigation activities.Assist operational leaders in evaluating and managing workplace risks.Incident Investigation and Corrective Action ManagementInvestigate employee injuries, guest incidents, property damage events, vehicle accidents, near-miss incidents, and operational safety concerns.Conduct root cause analyses utilizing established investigation methodologies.Develop corrective and preventive action recommendations.Track corrective action completion and effectiveness.Monitor trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for leadership review.Environmental Compliance and Sustainability SupportCoordinate hazardous materials management and chemical inventory programs.Support hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities.Monitor environmental compliance requirements and documentation.Assist with environmental inspections, audits, and corrective action efforts.Promote responsible environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives throughout the park.Contractor and Vendor Safety OversightSupport contractor qualification, onboarding, and safety compliance processes.Review contractor safety documentation and work plans.Conduct contractor safety observations and compliance inspections.Coordinate corrective actions when deficiencies are identified.Assist departments in ensuring vendor compliance with park safety requirements.Safety Training and AwarenessCoordinate safety orientation and onboarding programs for new associates.Facilitate recurring compliance training and safety education programs.Maintain training records and regulatory documentation.Assist departments in identifying and addressing training needs.Promote safety awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives.Support safety committee activities and continuous improvement efforts.Emergency Preparedness SupportAssist in maintaining emergency action plans, severe weather procedures, and emergency preparedness documentation.Coordinate emergency preparedness drills, tabletop exercises, and after-action reviews.Support emergency response planning efforts with operational departments.Assist in maintaining emergency equipment inspection records and readiness documentation.Serve as a resource during operational emergencies as assignedReporting, Analytics and Program PerformanceDevelop and maintain safety metrics, dashboards, and performance reports.Analyze trends related to incidents, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.Provide recommendations for reducing operational risks and improving compliance performance.Prepare reports and presentations for department and park leadership.Track departmental goals and safety performance indicators.Leadership and Administrative ResponsibilitiesSupervise assigned EHS personnel and seasonal safety staff as directed.Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management activities.Assist with departmental budgeting, purchasing, and resource planning.Maintain departmental records and administrative systems.Perform other duties as assigned.Responsibilities Specifically Excluded from This PositionThe EHS & Compliance Supervisor position does not have Claims.Executive-level safety governance.Emergency Medical Services (EMS) of First Aid operations.Emergency medical treatment of guests or associates.Ambulance operations.EMT, Paramedic, or medical provider responsibilities.Direct supervision of medical personnel.These responsibilities are retained by park leadership and other designated resources.What We're Looking ForRequiredBachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, compliance, risk management, occupational safety, or a related field.Experience conducting inspections, audits, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action management.Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, hazard recognition, and regulatory compliance practices including OSHA 30 Certification.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data reporting tools.Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain driving privileges in accordance with company standards.PreferredAssociate Safety Professional (ASP)Certified Safety
