Leidos is seeking an Energy Project Engineer with a background in energy policy, energy efficiency, water conservation efforts, energy and water consumption data analysis, and report writing to work on a full-time basis supporting the Energy Management and Compliance (EMC) Program, Air Traffic Organization, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Responsibilities:

The job also requires the selected individual to work with both Head Quarters Program Manager and Service Area Implementation Managers to compile requirements, funding information, initiate and track projects, obtain facility information, baseline energy and water usage, and review and evaluate that information for submission to the Department of Energy (DOE) Compliance Tracking System (CTS).

The selected individual will work as a part of the team that:

  • Benchmarks, monitors, and analyze water and energy usage of various FAA facilities.
  • Develops recommendations for projects that will reduce energy and water usage and costs in support of the EMC Program's mission.
  • This includes supporting compliance measures and projects stemming from a variety of agencies and federal energy mandates such as the Energy Independence and Security (EISA) and Energy Act of 2020.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with at least 4+ OR Masters with 2+ years of related work experience.

Knowledge and experience with the following:

  • Reviewing utility billing histories and baselining facility energy consumption.
  • Experience with emergency power systems [i.e. uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and power distribution systems (PDUs)]
  • Level 2 audit working with facilities to inspect HVAC and lighting systems
  • Conducting EISA energy and water evaluations of FAA facilities.
  • Reviewing building design drawings and evaluating energy, water and cost savings associated with energy and water efficiency projects.
  • Evaluate compliance of building designs with EISA High-Performance Sustainable Building (HPSB) Checklists.
  • Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders (written and verbal).
  • Working with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Technical writing for compiling reports.
  • MS Office applications for analysis, documentation and presentations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • LEED Certification or any other Energy related certification.
  • Knowledge of Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP)
  • Experience working with or supporting the Energy Program of any Federal Agency.
  • FAA experience a plus.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
