We’re seeking a dynamic Lead / Senior Environmental Engineer to spearhead critical permitting efforts for large-scale projects in Houston’s vibrant downtown office. In this role, you will take the lead on environmental permitting initiatives, ensuring projects meet federal and state regulations while maintaining schedule integrity. Collaborate with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and third-party contractors to execute complex permits such as USACE Sections 404/10, stormwater, hydrostatic test discharges, and more. Your expertise will drive environmental strategy, oversee resource surveys, and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to deliver projects successfully and sustainably.

What You Bring to the Table:

• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of permitting experience with a focus on linear projects, including CWA Nationwide Permits (like Nationwide Permit 12) and various state/federal authorizations.
• Deep understanding of USACE permitting processes (Sections 404, 10, 408) and NEPA requirements.
• Proven track record working closely with USACE districts such as Fort Worth, Galveston, and New Orleans.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with project teams, regulatory agencies, and senior management.
• Ability to navigate regulatory challenges with creative, solutions-oriented approaches.
• Familiarity with pipeline and oil/gas facility construction and operation is a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience leading NEPA-related projects.
• Existing relationships within environmental regulatory agencies.
• Knowledge of natural and cultural resource surveys and reporting.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams or third-party consultants.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, biological sciences, engineering, or relevant technical fields.
• A minimum of 10 years’ linear project permitting experience, with demonstrated success working across federal and state regulatory environments.

• Willingness to work full-time in the office located in Houston, TX.
• Valid permits or certifications in environmental fields will be advantageous.
