Description

Job Title: Environmental Compliance ConsultantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Compliance Consultant with 4-7 years of experience in hazardous waste and materials management. This role involves supporting environmental compliance consulting projects for commercial and industrial clients, focusing on regulatory compliance, audits, and client interaction. The successful candidate will work predominantly in a beautiful office environment, with occasional fieldwork and travel to unique locations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and coordinate project activities related to regulatory compliance, focusing on hazardous materials and waste management, petroleum storage tank compliance, stormwater, and wastewater programs.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to clients, assist in maintaining compliance, and interact with regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct compliance assessments at commercial and industrial facilities, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform environmental compliance audits focusing on hazardous waste storage, transportation, disposal, and recordkeeping practices.
  • Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Provide training to clients on hazardous materials handling, waste classification, and disposal requirements.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and program manuals.
  • Prepare and develop contingency and emergency response plans.
  • Identify new clients and business development opportunities within existing projects or clients.
  • Evaluate regulatory applicability, conduct rule research, and interpret requirements for clients.
  • Conduct inventory of hazardous waste and materials, prepare annual reports, and submit to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS).

Essential Skills

  • 4-7 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Experience in hazardous waste and hazardous materials compliance.
  • Strong technical writing and client communication skills.
  • Ability to independently execute compliance projects with minimal training.
  • Bachelor"s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance and environmental compliance audits.
  • Experience in field inspections and SOP development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships and identify sales opportunities.
  • Ability to multitask, maintain flexibility, travel up to 25%, and work independently.
  • Direct California experience is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on California Industrial General Permit experience is highly desirable.
  • QISP certification is preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily office-based with around 75% of the time spent in the office and 25% in the field. The office is located in Orange, CA, providing a laid-back but hard-working atmosphere. The role may involve travel to unique locations such as National Parks or remote areas like Alaska. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
