    Hours: 40 Hours/Week
    Start Date: August 6, 2026
    End Date: January 30, 2027

    Job Summary

    The Entry Phlebotomist I / Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience. This role primarily focuses on greeting patients, assisting with the check-in process using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets, answering questions, and maintaining an organized waiting area.

    In addition to lobby responsibilities, the Entry Phlebotomist I will provide phlebotomy support by covering staff breaks and assisting during staffing shortages. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with entry-level phlebotomy experience to develop their clinical skills while delivering exceptional customer service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Assist patients with self-service kiosk and tablet check-in processes.
    • Provide outstanding customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience.
    • Answer patient questions and explain the specimen collection process.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and waiting area.
    • Support phlebotomy staff by covering breaks and assisting during staffing shortages.
    • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established procedures.
    • Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
    • Verify patient identification and maintain accurate documentation.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
    • Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
    • Complete assigned duties accurately and within established timelines.
    • Demonstrate professionalism and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
    • Some phlebotomy experience is required (internship, externship, or clinical training accepted).
    • Minimum 1–2 years of customer-facing experience in roles such as retail, hospitality, healthcare, or home health.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent customer service and patient care abilities.
    • Basic keyboard and data entry proficiency.
    • Ability to work in both lobby and clinical environments.
    • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection.
    • Knowledge of specimen processing and laboratory procedures.
    • Comfortable using electronic registration systems and handheld devices.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Work Environment

    • Primarily serves as a Lobby Experience Coordinator, assisting patients during check-in and ensuring a positive waiting experience.
    • Provides phlebotomy support as needed for staff breaks and coverage.
