Job Description:
Seeking an Entry Level Phlebotomist / Patient Service Representative I (PSR I) to provide exceptional patient care and customer service in a laboratory setting. This role is primarily focused on patient check-in, lobby support, and customer service, with phlebotomy coverage provided during breaks and staffing shortages.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and assist with check-in using kiosks/tablets.
- Answer patient questions and explain procedures with care and compassion.
- Maintain a professional, clean, and welcoming lobby environment.
- Support phlebotomy staff during breaks and staffing shortages.
- Perform phlebotomy and clinical/forensic specimen collection when assigned.
- Complete documentation and data entry accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Follow established safety, quality, and laboratory procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required.
- Phlebotomy experience – Required, including internship/externship experience.
- 1–2 years of customer-facing experience – Required (healthcare, retail, home health, hospitality, etc.).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Keyboarding/data entry experience required.
- Ability to work in both lobby and draw-room environments.
- Compassionate, professional, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
