Job Summary
If you're interested in an Entry Level Seed Technician job, then this is the best role for you! The Seed Technician supports seed production activities across indoor processing, outdoor field operations, research and development, and manufacturing. Responsibilities include seed handling, planting, harvesting, data collection, inventory management, and basic equipment maintenance.
Job Description
- Receive, scan, clean, treat, sort, count, label, package, and warehouse seed.
- Perform outdoor activities such as planting, pollinating, note-taking, data entry, and hand harvesting.
- Collect electronic data in field and laboratory settings using PCs and handheld devices.
- Organize, move, and place seed into storage while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment in assigned areas.
- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and site safety requirements.
- Perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, prolonged sitting, or standing.
Skills Required
- 1–3 years of related experience.
- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Excel.
- Basic mechanical ability and understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and established SOPs.
- Ability to work effectively in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and/or related experience.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass drug screenings
- Start Time: 06:00 AM
- Must be able to perform physical activities including bending, lifting, and prolonged sitting or standing.
- Must be able to work extended hours during peak seasons as required.
- Must comply with all applicable safety requirements and site procedures.
- Must be able to accurately perform assigned tasks and maintain inventory and production records.
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $17.37 to $25.37 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
