Entry Level Mechanical / Civil Engineer # 26-14531

Job Description:

• The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree with a focus in Mechanical, Civil or General engineering experience.
• Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
• Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.

Job Responsibilities:

• Job responsibilities include creating a safe work environment by putting safety first.
• Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design.
• Understanding industry and client design standards.
• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system.
• Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
• Estimating material for projects, transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.

Skillsets:

• Skillsets and expertise required for this position include introductory engineering knowledge.
• Basic problem-solving skills, limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor.
• Basic discipline software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff.
• Design engineering staff and/or vendors.

Education Requirements :

• Accredited bachelor’s degree with a focus in Mechanical, Civil or General engineering experience.
