Congenial, boutique Long Island law insurance defense firm located in Glen Head, NY seeks a legal assistant/paralegal. The ideal candidate will Experience in insurance defense litigation is a plus but not a requirement. You should possess good organizational and communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases and collaborate with attorneys to provide outstanding legal support.
Essential Functions
- Review and analyze discovery documents, case materials and correspondence
- Some drafting of legal documents
- Management of attorneys' calendars/court appearances
- Obtain medical and other records
- Assist attorneys with management of case files
- File/e-file legal documents with NYSCEF and PACER (will train)
- Client contact
Applicants should possess the following:
- Good oral and written communication and organization skills
- Prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Experience in Microsoft office

$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year - Commensurate with Experience
