Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated, entry-level construction professional who is interested in developing a career as an Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career candidate with a construction-related degree who wants to learn how projects are priced, bid, and awarded while working alongside experienced construction professionals.

In this role, you"ll support the preconstruction and estimating teams by reviewing construction documents, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor pricing, and helping prepare competitive bids for a variety of commercial construction projects. You"ll gain exposure to both negotiated and hard-bid work and learn how projects are developed long before construction begins.

We"re looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys problem-solving, pays attention to details, and is interested in understanding how buildings come together from concept to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
  • Support the preparation of project estimates and bid proposals
  • Review plans, specifications, and other bid documents
  • Solicit and track subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Help analyze subcontractor quotes and compare bid coverage
  • Maintain estimating spreadsheets and bid documentation
  • Assist with budgeting and preliminary pricing exercises
  • Coordinate with project teams during preconstruction activities
  • Participate in project handoff meetings after project award
  • Learn industry best practices related to bidding, procurement, and cost management

Qualifications:

Must Have

  • Bachelor"s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Desire to build a career in construction estimating

Nice to Have

  • Internship, co-op, or prior construction experience
  • Exposure to commercial construction projects
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), or a construction estimating software
  • Experience working for a contractor, subcontractor, or construction management firm

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
