Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Transportation team in Boise ID, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for our Local and regional clients; such as design, analysis, and plan production for projects to be built.

In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers, architects and other senior technical staff you will work on design, analysis, and delivery of projects ranging from local projects to large transportation projects in the highway, site development and multi-model designs. We'll provide you with the challenge of working on coordination and design of local and state agency projects as well as rehabilitation and retrofit projects.

Your Responsibilities Will Also Include:

  • Contribute to the preparation of design drawings, calculations, technical memorandums, technical specifications, and design reports for the successful delivery of our projects
  • Work collaboratively across the various disciplines and markets within Jacobs to further develop your knowledge while being a key part of our transportation project team
  • Utilizing CADD to prepare various engineering drawings, layouts, and/or models to communicate project details in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Assist in basic highway/roadway geometric design calculations, corridor creation, super elevation design, construction sequencing, cost estimating and other design components

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Experience using CADD/Design software (Microstation/Inroads, Openroads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D)

Ideally, You'll Have

  • Previous design internship or related work experience
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship

58,656.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

88,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $88,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
