Entry Level Architectural Designer

Harris Group is seeking an Architectural Designer to work with multidisciplinary design teams on a variety of industrial facilities including laboratories, manufacturing environments, and similar project types. This opportunity will be based in Harris Group's Portland office and will require travel to jobsites in the area intermittently. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in architectural design. Bring your curiosity and problem-solving skills to this exciting role!

Responsibilities

• Prepare presentations, sketches, and drawings.
• Support project coordination, permitting, and administration.
• Coordinate with engineers and specialty consultants.
• Apply building codes and standards, including fire code, IBC/IFC, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
• Produce design and construction documents.
• Participate in client presentations, design workshops, and reviews.
• Support business development efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of commercial project design, experience in manufacturing, industrial, cleanroom, or hazardous material preferred .
• Experience interpreting building codes and standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and hand sketching.
• Started NCARB hours is a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Benefits

• Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
