This position provides enterprise-wide strategic and operational leadership for cardiovascular services across PeaceHealth. In partnership with physician leaders, executive leadership, and regional teams, the Enterprise Strategic Director, Cardiovascular will set the path for the future of cardiovascular care, leading efforts to grow, strengthen, and transform services across the continuum of care.

The role is responsible for developing and executing a unified, system-wide cardiovascular strategy that advances clinical quality, improves patient outcomes, expands market presence, and supports long-term organizational growth. Working within a complex matrixed environment, this leader will evaluate and prioritize community and regional cardiovascular plans, aligning them into a cohesive enterprise strategy that advances a One PeaceHealth approach to cardiovascular services. The leader will bring together diverse stakeholders to establish priorities, align resources, and drive the execution of strategic initiatives across multiple communities and geographies.

Working closely with community, regional, and system operational leaders across ambulatory, acute, and post-acute settings, this leader will support the achievement of annual budget, growth, and performance targets while ensuring alignment to enterprise objectives. The position is accountable for developing and achieving overall annual growth goals for the cardiovascular service line and for leading the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure success across growth, clinical quality, patient experience, operational excellence, and financial performance.

This leader will serve as a key influencer in identifying opportunities for program development, service expansion, and operational improvement while fostering strong physician partnerships and a culture of innovation. Through strategic vision, enterprise leadership, and effective collaboration across the organization, the position will help create a high-performing cardiovascular service line that delivers exceptional care, measurable outcomes, and sustainable growth throughout the PeaceHealth system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programs, services, and care delivery models aligned with the strategic vision for the signature services.
  • Analyzes market trends and organizational performance to identify growth opportunities and provides strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversees the development and execution of new programs and services in collaboration with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partners with clinical and administrative leaders across PeaceHealth to optimize staffing models, ensuring efficient and safe resource utilization and achievement of performance targets.
  • Establishes and implements a collaborative governance framework to provide effective oversight of assigned signature services. Recommends enhancements to reporting structures to ensure coordination and high-quality care across the continuum.
  • In collaboration with Signature Services Steering Committee and Operations Council members; develops and executes strategic and long-term transformation plans to advance innovative care models and expand geographic reach to better serve patients and communities.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to drive successful execution of strategic initiatives; monitors, evaluates, and reports progress towards goals while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides financial oversight for assigned signature services, including operating revenues and expense management, and leads the evaluation, prioritization, and review and approval of capital investments.
  • Drives operational excellence through expense management, cost containment, business development, and strategic planning initiatives that enhance signature services performance.
  • Maintains knowledge of national benchmarks in financial performance, staffing, quality and patient safety, ensuring signature services outcomes meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Cultivates strong, collaborative relationships across the signature services, with a focus on physician and clinician engagement and alignment among all clinical stakeholders.
  • Develops and monitors key performance metrics (KPI)m regularly communicating outcomes, trends, and progress to physicians, staff, and organizational leadership.
  • Champions a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and excellence across all aspects of care delivery.
  • Builds high-impact partnerships with physicians, operations leadership, and staff to drive measurable improvements in patient care outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience, and workforce engagement.
  • Provides consistent communication through reports, meetings and presentations on signature services performance, highlighting progress toward achievement of strategic and operational goals.
  • Addresses complex operational and strategic issues in partnership with legal, marketing communications, medical staff and other key stakeholders to enhance the growth and strategic direction of the signature services.
  • Provides support to regional operations to ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements and represents PeaceHealth's interest at local, state and national levels.
  • Engages in professional organizations to strengthen industry relationships and stays current on best practices. Presents signature services innovations and outcomes at local and/or national forums as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree: Healthcare Administration, Hospital Administration or in a medical or clinical field.
  • Master's Degree: Healthcare, Hospital Administration, Clinical or Medical Field, or related field. (Preferred)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in signature service lines, including demonstrated leadership within integrated health system or managed care organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and drive results within a complex matrixed organizational environment.
  • Ability to build collaborative, productive relationships with system, regional, and community leadership.
  • Effectively partner and work closely with ambulatory, acute, and post-acute organizations across PeaceHealth.
  • Must understand the use of evidence in decision making within acute and ambulatory care environments.
  • Excellent verbal, negotiation, and written communication skills, particularly with key stakeholder groups such as physicians, other clinicians, and all levels of leadership.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiating skills in a highly complex, matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service and collaboration skills across and with diverse key stakeholders and all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to build collaborative and respectful relationships with clinical, administrative, and physician staff and all levels of management.

  • Extensive knowledge of ambulatory regulatory compliance relating to both state and federal healthcare guidelines and requirements.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $187,491 - $281,216. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, seniority, etc.
