Description
We are seeking a senior-level Enterprise Network Engineer to join our growing IT services team, reporting to the Vice President of Engineering. You'll bring a long career in networking — 15 or more years overall, with at least a decade spent designing and rolling out networks at enterprise scale — along with the communication skills to explain complex ideas to anyone, from engineers to executives. Beyond leading demanding design and deployment projects, you'll step into customer conversations early, helping shape solutions before the deal is signed and advising leadership teams on where their network should go next. The ideal candidate is fluent in advanced networking, enterprise security, and modern architecture practices.
Job Responsibilities
• Architecture: Lead the design and rollout of large, multi-site networks spanning data center, WAN, cloud, wireless, and security layers.
• Advisory: Act as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise customers, tying network decisions back to their business objectives and appetite for risk.
• Pre-sales: Partner with the sales team to scope opportunities, run technical discovery, draft solution architectures, and contribute to proposals and customer presentations.
• Technical leadership: Set the standards for how networking projects get built, including reference architectures and best practices, and coach junior engineers while building up the team's shared knowledge.
• Security: Build secure network environments from the ground up, applying zero-trust thinking, segmentation, and compliance requirements such as HIPAA, PCI, and SOX.
• Automation and monitoring: Use tools like Ansible, Python, and modern monitoring platforms to cut down on manual work, improve visibility, and catch problems before customers do.
• Collaboration: Work hand in hand with the PMO, solution architects, and customer stakeholders so projects land on time and on target.
• Industry presence: Keep up with where networking technology is headed, and represent the company in vendor meetings, webinars, and industry events when needed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least 10 years designing and implementing enterprise-grade network solutions.
• A history of high-level consulting and executive-facing communication, ideally with large enterprise or Fortune 1000 customers.
• Demonstrated success in pre-sales engineering, solution development, and technical leadership.
• Deep knowledge of routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), WAN optimization, SD-WAN, network segmentation, NAC, and wireless technologies.
• Working familiarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code, such as Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
• Sharp analytical thinking, strong organization, and dependable documentation habits.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, to meet export control requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet (NGFW, SD-WAN, NAC) and/or Arista (EVPN-VXLAN, CloudVision, spine-leaf designs).
• Advanced certifications such as Fortinet FCP or NSE 8, Arista ACE Level 3, CCIE, JNCIE, or CISSP.
