Join a forward-thinking organization as an Enterprise Managed Container Platform Architect and play a pivotal role in designing, standardizing, and scaling our enterprise-grade, managed container platform across AWS EKS, ECS, and related cloud-native technologies. This fully remote position drives secure, resilient, and cost-effective solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable consistent, automated, and compliant container adoption enterprise-wide. Shape the future of our cloud-native strategy, reduce platform fragmentation, and accelerate application delivery as a hands-on architecture leader.

    [Responsibilities]

    • Define and implement enterprise architecture, standards, guardrails, and reference designs for managed container platforms (EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, Docker)
    • Lead hands-on design and automation of standardized EKS clusters using Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, Helm, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps
    • Establish governance for container image security, registry controls, vulnerability scanning, signing, and supply chain risk reduction
    • Develop workload placement strategies, operational models, and responsibility matrices for platform engineering, DevOps, and application teams
    • Create reusable automation, patterns, and templates for cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, patching, scaling, and policy enforcement
    • Drive platform observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and operational dashboards
    • Define and execute backup, restore, high-availability, resiliency, and disaster-recovery strategies for containerized workloads
    • Lead architecture reviews, decision records, and executive-ready recommendations for platform adoption and maturity
    • Mentor and guide architects, engineers, and development teams on enterprise Kubernetes/container practices and operational excellence
    • Partner with cloud, security, infrastructure, and business technology teams to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient platform operations

    [Required Skills and Experience]

    • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
    • 8+ years in enterprise/cloud/platform/solution architecture, platform engineering, or DevOps
    • Proven expertise with AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native container platform design and operations
    • Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, CI/CD, Helm, GitOps, and automation
    • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, cluster lifecycle, networking, RBAC, secrets, certificates, and workload deployment
    • Hands-on experience with container security, image scanning, registry management, and vulnerability management
    • Expertise in monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and platform observability for cloud-native environments
    • Demonstrated leadership in architecture standards, reusable patterns, governance, and operational readiness
    • Exceptional communication, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

    [Preferred Skills]

    • Industry experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or healthcare
    • AWS certifications in Solutions Architecture, DevOps, Security, Networking, or Kubernetes
    • Advanced hands-on experience with EKS/ECS workload placement, cluster upgrades, Fargate, Amazon ECR, IAM, and cloud-native observability
    • Proficiency with Cilium, Karpenter, Rancher, Red Hat OpenShift, Harbor, Velero, Kyverno, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit, Vault, Keyfactor, and similar technologies
    • Experience establishing platform engineering product models, self-service developer platforms, and communities of practice

    [Benefits]

    • 100% remote work flexibility - work from anywhere in the U.S.
    • Opportunity to architect and influence an enterprise-scale, modern container platform
    • Collaborate with industry-leading technologists and executive stakeholders
    • High-impact, hands-on leadership role with significant visibility
    • Professional growth through complex project delivery, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration

    [How to Apply]
