Description

Java Architect + GenAI Architect

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite) only locals
Duration: Long-term

Key Responsibilities

Design and architect enterprise-grade Java applications and distributed systems.
Lead modernization of legacy applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
Integrate AI/GenAI capabilities into business applications, including chatbots, intelligent search, recommendation engines, and automation solutions.
Design and implement solutions leveraging LLMs, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), vector databases, AI orchestration frameworks, and prompt engineering techniques.
Collaborate with business, product, and engineering teams to identify AI use cases and deliver scalable solutions.
Define architecture standards, security best practices, observability, and performance optimization strategies.
Mentor development teams and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills

12+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on Java development.
Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Experience designing enterprise architecture and scalable distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI technologies:
- OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar LLM platforms.
- LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex, or related frameworks.
- RAG, Vector Databases (Pinecone, Chroma, Weaviate, Azure AI Search).
- Prompt Engineering and AI Agent development.
Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

Retail or eCommerce domain experience.
Experience building AI-powered customer engagement, search, personalization, or merchandising solutions.
Knowledge of MLOps and AI governance.
