We currently have a career opportunity for an Enterprise Architect to join our team located in Boston, MA. This is an on client site, hybrid role.

Job Overview:

The Enterprise Architect is the senior architecture authority responsible for shaping the target-state of the enterprise across all architecture domains - Business, Data, Application, and Technology - and for governing how strategy is translated into a coherent, executable architecture. The Enterprise Architect partners with executive leadership to align technology investment with business strategy, sets architectural standards and reference patterns, and ensures that programs and solutions deliver against a unified long-range roadmap.

This role operates at the intersection of business strategy and technology execution. It is distinct from a Solutions Architect (who designs a specific solution) and a Technical Architect (who owns the buildable technology design). The Enterprise Architect owns the system of systems.

Perficient is the global AI and technology consulting firm disrupting the traditional consulting model. Powered by our 7,000+ advisors, engineers, and designers, Perficient implements AI-first solutions that break conventions and deliver outcomes that matter. Proudly serving clients that represent the world's most innovative brands, and in collaboration with our powerful technology partner ecosystem, we bring deep industry expertise and data-driven design to redefine how businesses run and succeed. Perficient is different. For real. Learn more at perficient.com.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of progressive architecture experience, with at least 3 years in an Enterprise Architect or equivalent capacity
  • Demonstrated delivery of large-scale, multi-system enterprise transformations
  • Expertise in at least one EA framework: TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF, or DoDAF
  • Proficiency with architecture modelling tools and notations: ArchiMate, UML, BPMN
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), integration patterns (API, event-driven, ESB), data architecture, and modern security and identity frameworks
  • Working knowledge of all four EA domains, with deep expertise in at least two
  • Experience leading or participating in an Architecture Review Board or equivalent governance body
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills; ability to engage credibly from engineer to C-suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • TOGAF 9 / 10 Certified Architect, or equivalent (Zachman, FEAF, SAFe Enterprise Architect)
  • Industry-specific architecture experience (financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, public sector, retail)
  • Familiarity with business architecture practices
  • Experience embedding AI / ML platforms, data mesh / data fabric, or zero-trust security at the enterprise level
  • Track record of building and leading an architecture practice or community of practice
