Description:

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with HOPEX Platform Subject Matter Expertise to support a Department of War, Office of Inspector General, Enterprise Architecture program.

 

This position combines hands-on HOPEX platform expertise with practical experience in enterprise architecture, architecture data management, application and technology portfolio management, systems integration, and analytics. You will serve as the primary technical expert for HOPEX, ensuring the platform provides an accurate, integrated, enterprise architecture governance tool and data repository. You will work closely with Enterprise, Business, Data, Application, Cloud, Cybersecurity, ServiceNow, and Solution Architects, as well as IT engineering and operations teams, to build and maintain consistent architecture models, relationships, standards, and authoritative IT portfolio information. You will develop integrations, dashboards, reports, roadmaps, and analytical capabilities that support infrastructure and application modernization, technology investment planning, data governance, portfolio optimization, and risk management. Your work will help establish HOPEX as a trusted enterprise architecture platform that provides OIG’s executive leadership with actionable insights for strategic planning, and people, process and technology investment decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for the HOPEX enterprise architecture platform, providing hands-on administration, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, and technical guidance.
• Configure and maintain HOPEX repository structures, workflows, roles, permissions, dashboards, views, validation rules, and other platform capabilities supporting the Enterprise Architecture program.
• Manage HOPEX platform lifecycle activities, including releases, upgrades, patches, configuration changes, technical health, performance, and coordination with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor support teams.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with BizzDesign/MEGA for product support, defect resolution, enhancement requests, licensing, platform guidance, and optimization.
• Design, develop, maintain, and document integrations between HOPEX and authoritative enterprise systems and data sources, including ServiceNow, Microsoft Entra ID, human resources, financial, portfolio, and other approved systems.
• Monitor and improve the completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and integrity of architecture repository data and relationships.
• Collaborate with enterprise and domain architects to develop and maintain consistent business, data, application, technology, security, service, and other approved architecture models, views and relationships.
• Support application modernization, cloud migration, technology lifecycle management, cloud modernization planning, and technical debt analysis by identifying redundancies, dependencies, lifecycle risks, standards alignment, and innovation opportunities.
• Develop architecture dashboards, reports, portfolio analytics, roadmaps, and executive-level views that transform repository data into actionable information for planning, governance, investment and modernization decisions.
• Maintain technical documentation for HOPEX configurations, integrations, data mappings, interfaces, workflows, repository structures, administrative procedures, and governance standards.
• Participate in Enterprise Architecture governance, architecture reviews, portfolio analysis, modernization planning, and related activities requiring information or analysis from the HOPEX repository.

Qualifications:

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, information technology, business, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise architecture, information technology, enterprise applications, systems integration, data management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of demonstrated deep hands-on experience administering, configuring, supporting, or implementing the HOPEX enterprise architecture platform in a production enterprise environment.
• Experience configuring architecture repositories, including metamodels, metadata, taxonomies, workflows, validation rules, permissions, views, and reporting capabilities.
• Experience managing architecture or portfolio data involving applications, technologies, business capabilities, services, organizations, data assets, dependencies, ownership, and lifecycle information.
• Experience developing, supporting, or maintaining integrations between enterprise platforms (e.g. ServiceNow), identity management (e.g. Active Directory and Entra ID), and authoritative data sources using APIs, web services, data exchanges, ETL processes, and other applicable integration technologies.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, architecture views, portfolio analytics, and management-level reporting from enterprise architecture or portfolio data.
• Ability to translate architecture, business, and technical requirements into practical HOPEX configurations, data structures, workflows, integrations, and solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, data owners, program managers, cybersecurity personnel, business stakeholders and senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Enterprise Architecture within a U.S. Federal Government or Department of War environment.
• Experience developing business capability models, application landscapes, technology roadmaps, reference architectures, dependency models, and transition-state architecture views.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks and modeling practices such as Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), ArchiMate, or comparable frameworks.
• Familiarity with Federal and/or DoW cybersecurity, data governance, and information-management requirements.
• Experience supporting architecture governance boards, technical review processes, investment planning, portfolio governance, or modernization initiatives.
• Relevant professional certifications, such as:
• • Current Bizzdesign/MEGA HOPEX platform, administration, modeling, or related product certification.
  • TOGAF certification.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or higher.
  • Relevant data management, data governance, Azure cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture certifications.
  • CompTIA Security+ (or another DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification).
