Enrollment Services Assistant - New Brunswick Center

SALARY: $48,817.00 Annually

DEPARTMENT: New Brunswick Center

REPORTS TO: Director, New Brunswick Center

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides exemplary frontline customer service while assisting students with enrollment services in multiple functional areas.
  • Enters, verifies, and researches student records information in a timely manner utilizing the College's Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • Assists prospective students with ESL assessments; informs students on available credit and non-credit classes; assists students to register for classes; and advocates for students.
  • Addresses student inquiries and outreach activities in person, by phone, or via e-mail.
  • Utilizes the College's document imaging system for electronic records management and retrieval; completes related scanning and linking tasks as needed.
  • Performs cashiering functions required in the Enrollment Services department.
  • Attends divisional/department and other meetings as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of customer service experience in an educational environment, social service agency, or in the private business sector

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree
  • Experience in one area of student services, such as admissions, registration, student records, financial aid or student financial services
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment, with demonstrated multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented setting
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

SCHEDULE: 35 Hours Per Week

Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

RETIREMENT: Pension Eligible

Any Middlesex College employee hired after September 1, 2011 will have to meet the New Jersey residency law
