Position Overview
The Enrollment Counselor will guide prospective students through the enrollment process providing assistance throughout the process in an effort to meet both the students educational goals and the Colleges recruitment goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provides both in-person and virtual admissions appointments and campus tours to prospective students.
Communicate with prospective students through extensive use of phone calls emails text messages and other various Galen systems.
Maintains continuous detailed communication documentation in the student information system or CRM for prospective students throughout the enrollment process.
Guides applicants through the following steps in the enrollment process including but not limited to: a. Submitting the application for admission b. Collecting and recording all supporting documentation needed to complete a prospective student file such as admission requirements transcripts test scores etc. c. Scheduling entrance assessment as needed d. Collaborating with the Office of Academic Records to evaluate and apply requested transfer credit. e. Collecting and recording all supporting documentation needed to package federal financial aid as needed. f. Collaborating with the Financial Aid Office to evaluate and award any eligible federal financial aid g. Collaborating with the Office of Academic Records and Student Success to assist in the program advising and registration of first term classes h. Supporting students to help overcome any delays or obstacles to enrollment
Schedules enrollment appointment and meets with prospective students to provide estimated financial plan and complete enrollment agreement and any other required enrollment documents.
Participate in local high school college and career fairs and community marketing events as needed.
Assists in coordinating and participating in campus Open House New Student Orientation Graduation and other Galen College events
Maintain confidentiality of all prospective students and student information. Follow guidelines by regulatory bodies such as FERPA the Department of Education other Galen accrediting agencies federal state and local laws etc.
Maintain current knowledge of college policies and processes and relevant accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Participates in development and training opportunities as requested by the College.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education Bachelors Degree preferred. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Experience Experience working with Ellucian Recruit CRM or Colleague experience helpful but not required.
Skills Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must be responsible and accountable for striving to reach individual as well as departmental goals. Must be a team player by assisting and encouraging other Galen employees.
Special Qualifications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to secure access to all Department of Education websites including but not limited to NSLDS COD CPS etc. Candidates should have no active student loan default history.
PhysicalMental Demands & Work Environment Must be able to sit at a desk for eight hours at a time. Must be available to work flexible schedule to include some evenings and occasional weekends.
Degree of Supervision Minimal.
