SUMMARY:
The Enrichment Support Specialist supports adults with autism or developmental disabilities in a day program setting. This role includes helping with daily living tasks, encouraging social interaction, and guiding activities that promote independence and personal growth.
JOB DUTIES:
- Supervise and/or assist clients with dressing, grooming, and hygiene
- Assist with daily living activities
- Assist clients during lunch and snack, including food preparation and cleanup
- Socialize with clients and help them access peer interactions and engagement
- Use verbal praise and behavior reinforcement
- Monitor the safety of clients on campus and during field trips
- Provide individualized assistance during all program activities
- Assist with daily activities, projects, and workshops, and encourage participant communication and independence
- Complete related paperwork and documentation, including daily data
- Assist with assessments periodically
- Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time standing, walking on sloped/hilly areas of campus, carrying, driving, lifting (up to 50 pounds), listening, speaking, reaching, writing, and participating in restraint procedures.
