ocation: West Boylston, MA
Shift: Mon–Fri, 7:00am–3:30pm
Pay: $19–$34/hr DOE
Westaff is hiring hands-on Development Engineering Technicians to support Product Development Engineers with building, testing, debugging, and documenting prototype systems.
Job Duties
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/mechanical prototypes
- Follow engineering docs or verbal instructions; maintain clear lab notes
- Create simple sketches/drawings when needed
- Assemble circuits, mechanical parts, and full prototype systems
- Suggest improvements to build/test processes
- Set up and run test fixtures
- Use and maintain power tools and precision tools
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Help guide small groups of techs to meet project goals
- Keep prototype areas, tools, and equipment organized
- Assist with updating build/test procedures
Qualifications
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma; technical/trade school a plus
- Skilled with precision tools and metrology equipment
- 5+ years in a development environment; leadership experience a bonus
- Comfortable with engineering terminology
- Proficient with Excel and Outlook
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Kinetic a plus)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
