Akkodis is seeking an Engineering Technician / Technical Operations Specialist for a Contract job with a client in Normal, IL. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting manufacturing operations, engineering development activities, component tracking, and production support within a fast-paced environment.
Rate Range: $25/hour to $28/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Engineering Technician / Technical Operations Specialist Job Responsibilities Include:
Partner directly with Senior Series Engineers and cross-functional teams to support daily engineering activities, operational execution, documentation, and technical projects related to electric motor development.
Gather, inspect, measure, track, and verify components required for engineering builds, validation testing, manufacturing trials, and development activities.
Coordinate the shipment, receipt, packaging, transportation, and inventory tracking of engineering parts and materials to ensure timely execution of development programs.
Participate in root cause analysis investigations by identifying failure sources, documenting findings, and supporting containment and corrective action activities.
Desired Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of two years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing, production, technical operations, or engineering support environment.
Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software platforms, engineering systems, inventory applications, and project tracking tools.
Demonstrated ability to support engineering development, manufacturing operations, product validation, quality initiatives, and production-related activities.
Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, manufacturing prints, technical documentation, and component specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting automotive manufacturing, vehicle development, electric vehicle technologies, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis methodologies such as 5-Why analysis, Fishbone diagrams, containment processes, and corrective action practices.
Experience working with engineering prototypes, validation builds, production trials, or manufacturing launch activities.
High-energy attitude with a willingness to learn new skills, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
