At this time, SCI is recruiting highly qualified candidates whose background and career goals meet our needs for an Engineering Technician in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will perform routine go/no-go testing and environmental testing (including thermal and vibration tests) on circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies across all programs, ensuring compliance with Military Standards and technical procedures.

What You''ll Do

• Perform routine go/no-go testing of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Setup and monitor thermal, vibration, and other environmental tests according to MIL-STDs and work instructions using hand tools or automatic test methods.
• Perform mechanical inspections per engineering drawings and procedures utilizing calibrated measuring devices.
• Document test results, maintain logs, and track record entries indicating equipment malfunctions or required info using paper forms and electronic databases.
• Execute simple repairs and component removal or replacement as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with technicians and management staff while working unsupervised with consistent effort.

What You''ll Bring

• Education: 2-year degree or military equivalent.
• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in engineering technology, electronic testing, or environmental testing.
• Physical Requirement: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated capability to work unsupervised with consistent effort and clear communication.

How to Stand Out

• Practical experience performing environmental testing (thermal, vibration, altitude) specifically following MIL-STDs within the defense and aerospace sector.
• Strong background in mechanical inspection using precision calibrated measurement tools and executing component-level rework/repairs on complex electronic assemblies.
