Engineering Technician

Location: Miami, FL Relocation Assistance Available

Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support the assembly, testing, and production of advanced satellite propulsion systems. This role offers an opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge aerospace hardware while collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, integration, and test teams. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting complex technical systems in a production or laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Propulsion System Assembly & Testing

  • Perform propulsion system assembly, testing, and quality control activities following detailed work instructions and test procedures.
  • Support production and testing of satellite propulsion subsystems and components.
  • Execute engineering tasks using established engineering standards, processes, and program requirements.
  • Ensure hardware is built and tested according to quality and performance expectations.

Documentation & Configuration Support

  • Develop and maintain assembly documentation for propulsion subassemblies, including:

  • Assembly reports

  • Manufacturing drawings

  • Tooling documentation

  • Test procedures and setups

  • Non-conformance reports (NCRs)

  • Maintain production, testing, inventory, and configuration databases.

  • Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal procedures.

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

  • Investigate component and subsystem anomalies.
  • Support failure investigations and root cause analysis activities.
  • Assist with corrective actions and hardware disposition decisions.
  • Document findings and recommendations to improve product reliability and production efficiency.

Test Development & Validation

  • Develop reference performance test plans and procedures.
  • Identify necessary hardware and equipment required for testing.
  • Design and support test setups used for propulsion subsystem verification.
  • Generate verification and validation plans to demonstrate system performance and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with systems engineering, integration & test, manufacturing, and subsystem engineering teams.
  • Support requirements validation and subsystem verification efforts.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of production work instructions.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure component and subsystem interfaces are properly understood and executed.

Technical Communication

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and technical updates for peers, leadership, and customers.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical findings effectively.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience performing electrical and mechanical testing in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or electronics environment.
  • Hands-on experience with wire harnesses, including assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, or testing.
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical systems, assemblies, or subsystems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on production, lab, or test environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and integration.

  • Proficiency using electronic test equipment such as:

  • Oscilloscopes

  • Signal Generators

  • Digital Multimeters

  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls and handling procedures.

  • Experience with soldering, cable termination, or electronic assembly.

  • Experience conducting environmental or qualification testing using vibration tables.

  • Experience working with sensors, actuators, and control systems.

  • Aerospace, defense, satellite, or avionics experience preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Homestead, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
