Engineering Technician

This role is part of our R&D team, developing and validating the next generation of our consumer-electronics test, integration, and device-management platforms. Working alongside senior developers, this position codes, tests, and validates new software and device-diagnostics solutions for the production environment.

1st Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Pair-code in C#/.NET with the R&D development team to build and extend test, integration, and device-management software.
• Research, prototype, and evaluate new approaches, tools, and hardware/software integrations for the test platform.
• Test and validate device diagnostics for Android and iOS devices — confirm results are correct, repeatable, and trustworthy.
• Build repeatable test cases and automate validation where possible.
• Troubleshoot integration and diagnostics failures, determine root cause, and resolve.
• Analyze technical requirements and estimate effort for R&D initiatives.
• Generate engineering documents, including diagnostics, flowcharts, test cases, and project status reports.
• Configure and calibrate test systems for R&D use.
• Work with all levels of management to define and prioritize workflow.

Required Skills

• 0–2 years of experience in test engineering, software development, or production shop-floor environments.
• C#/.NET coding ability (coursework, internships, or personal projects count).
• Working familiarity with Python, CLI, and Linux applications; exposure to C/C++ and JTAG a plus.
• Understanding of Android and iOS device diagnostics (healthy vs. failing behavior; ADB/fastboot; restore/diagnostic flows).
• Strong testing and validation instinct — writes real test cases, not happy-path only.
• Thinks out of the box — or likes to break the box. Inventive, curious, and comfortable ramping into unfamiliar technical domains.
• Clear, methodical approach to root-causing engineering problems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and electronics.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and interact professionally with customers.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
