Description

The Fountain Group is seeking an Engineering Technician – Electronics to support a leading client in Los Angeles, CA. Details for the position below: 

Engineering Technician – Electronics
Location: Los Angeles, CA (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $33.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 12-Month Contract (strong potential to extend or convert based on performance and budget).

Responsibilities
  • Perform functional, parametric, and performance testing on electronic and RF products.
  • Support environmental qualification testing, including thermal cycling, humidity, shock, and vibration testing.
  • Configure test setups and monitor equipment during testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the component, board, and system levels.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, assembly drawings, mechanical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Assist with failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Perform precision soldering, rework, and component replacement.
  • Build test fixtures, cables, wire harnesses, and prototype assemblies.
  • Maintain ESD-compliant laboratory practices.
  • Record and organize test results and prepare technical reports.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, laboratory logs, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Support Engineering and Manufacturing teams with New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Validate assemblies and test configurations prior to manufacturing release.
Qualifications
  • One of the following:
    • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of electronics, hardware, or RF support experience; OR
    • Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (or related field) with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR
    • Equivalent military electronics training with hands-on hardware experience.
  • IPC Certification Required
    • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with electronic assemblies and hardware systems.
  • Soldering and electronic rework experience.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment, including:
    • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Power Supplies
    • Other electronic test equipment
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB assemblies, wire harnesses, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
