Engineering Technician, Electrical Hardware Test & Validation, Optimus

As a member of the Optimus test team, you will perform hands-on component-level testing and validation across electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines, with a primary focus on electrical test execution and prototype bring-up. You will set up test equipment, fabricate harnesses, solder and instrument hardware, and collect data that directly informs engineering decisions. The role requires strong electrical skills, a methodical approach to test execution, and the flexibility to support thermal, environmental, and mechanical tasks as needed.

• Execute component-level tests including setup, instrumentation, signal integrity analysis, data collection, and validation using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and electronic loads
• Fabricate wire harnesses, solder PCBs, and instrument prototypes using schematics, hand tools, and precision measurement equipment
• Install thermocouples and perform component-level thermal chamber and environmental stress testing
• Run and modify Python scripts and use Linux CLI to support test execution and data acquisition
• Optimize and document test processes to improve throughput, yield, and data quality while supporting new test bring-up
• Collaborate with engineers during bring-up activities, escalate anomalies, and interface on component modifications
• Maintain lab safety protocols, ESD standards, and a clean organized workspace
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical testing and prototype validation or a related technical discipline
• Strong proficiency with hand tools, precision measurement instruments, soldering techniques, and torque applications
• Demonstrated experience with environmental chamber testing, oscilloscope-based signal analysis, power supplies, and electronic loads
• Experience with data collection and reporting in MS Excel and ability to run and adapt Python scripts for test workflows
• Comfort navigating Linux CLI to support test execution and data acquisition
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Expected Compensation

$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
