PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Engineering Technician in El Segundo, California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support the assembly, integration, checkout, and testing of prototype weapon systems incorporating electro-mechanical hardware, power electronics, processors, sensors, and rocket-powered components.
Required Skills
- Active DoD Secret clearance required to start.
- Experience assembling and integrating military and/or aerospace weapon systems.
- Experience fabricating and checking out electrical cables and wire harnesses.
- Experience using basic laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Ability to read and execute engineering drawings, electrical schematics, build plans, work orders, and test procedures.
- Experience supporting electro-mechanical assembly, integration, checkout, and test activities.
- Ability to accurately collect and maintain build and test documentation.
- Ability to follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), high-voltage, and cleanroom safety procedures.
- Ability to work with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified information in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience assembling, integrating, and testing weapon systems involving precision servo-driven mechanisms, missiles, or gun-launched systems.
- Experience handling energetic materials, including 1.1A hazard-class materials.
- Basic machining experience using mills and/or lathes.
- Active Top Secret clearance.
What You’ll Do
- Assemble, integrate, check out, and test prototype weapon-system hardware.
- Support systems incorporating electro-mechanical components, power electronics, processors, sensors, and related hardware.
- Build and test electrical cables and harnesses.
- Execute work from engineering drawings, electrical schematics, work orders, build instructions, and test procedures.
- Operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other laboratory test equipment.
- Collect and maintain build data, photographs, handwritten records, and other technical documentation.
- Support development of end-item data packages.
- Work with ESD-sensitive hardware, high-voltage electronics, and cleanroom processes.
- Follow applicable safety, security, and classified-information handling requirements.
- Support onsite system demonstrations at government facilities.
- Participate in assembly, checkout, and live-fire test activities as required.
- Travel to government or test facilities as needed.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 9/80 work schedule.
- Full-time onsite in El Segundo, California.
- Up to 20% travel required.
